Valentine Wreath

A lady at work commissioned me to make her a wreath for Valentines Day. I have never made a wreath before, nor worked with any kind of floral arrangement, but it was a lot of fun. I really liked the way it turned out. It looks a little dull in the picture, but in person it really is glittery!! Click the picture to see a little more detail.

For The Love of Teapots!

I have a slight problem. A "sickness" of sorts.........I can't stop buying or wanting these new scrapbook collections!!!! I have tons..I mean tons of paper and supplies, but every time a new line comes out....I just have to have it. I hunt, I search, I scour for it. It's not that I need it, sometimes I don't even have pictures to go with it. It's just that I WANT IT! And now, I have come across this problem for the second time this week. Have you seen the sneak peek of the 2 new Basic Grey lines??? All I can say is AAAHHHHHHHHHHH teapots! Teapots!!!!!!!!!! One of the new lines is called Porcelain, and I soooo NEED it. It gives me this kind of vintage/victorian feel, and the colors are just AMAZING!!! Here is the preview picture

Now I know that is just a sneak peek, but I already want it all. Even though I don't even know what ALL is going to look like?? So I ask you all my fellow scrapbookers, how do you stop? How to you STOP buying everything? Or is it impossible??

By the way did I mention October Afternoon just posted another new sneak peek collection on their blog??? Hehehe. ( http://octoberafternoon.typepad.com)

CHA Fever!

So the sneak peeks from the big CHA show are starting to come out. There are soooooo many great new scrapbook lines coming out I just can not handle it all! Do you ever find yourself planning a photo session just so you can use a certain paper line?? Hehe. I know I do.
My absolute favorite company October Afternoon just launched a sneak peek on their blog, and OH MY is it darling!! I have to have it! It's called "Cherry Hill" and it features adorable birds, strawberries, bees, and of course cherries. (CHECK IT OUT HERE). I don't know how I am going to resist getting 10 sheets of every paper in this line! lol.
What new lines are you looking forward to??

Sew Wonderful

So I have been doing a lot of sewing lately and I got a few emails asking what kind of sewing machine do you use? Well, my sewing machine is not at all glamorous, but it gets the work done, or at least for the most part. lol. I currently own a Kenmore 14 stitch. Year??? I'm not sure, but let's just say this baby is vintage. Here is my current little work horse.......

I have been thinking a lot about getting a new sewing machine so I can start selling my Blythe creations. While my current machine gets the job done, by new means is it up to par to sell things. It often gets jammed and loose threads randomly strewing about, but I love it all the same. So.......I have been looking at this one...

A Brother CS6000I....sounds fancy huh?? lol. Well it looks like it. It's computerized, has a ton of great functions, stitches and most of all it's a super great price over at Amazon, and has AMAZING reviews (check it out). So maybe if I put some money aside over the next few weeks I might splurge and get it. Does anyone else have any sewing machine recommendations? Let me know!

I also got this adorable pattern at Joann's for 99 cents! I can't wait to make this owl pincushion!!!

Inauguration Tuesday

I was snowed in all this weekend. I can not believe this weather lately. The snow just keeps piling up. More and more everyday. I am so ready for spring. For some reason I find more inspiration in crafting when it is warmer and nicer out. Winter just makes me want to curl up and take a nap.

I am about to break out my slice and use it for the first time on a scrapbook page, instead of just messing around with it and having hundreds of slice clippings laying all over my desk. I am also excited because on January 25th Making Memories is revealing 12 new cartridges for the Slice! I wonder what great things they are going to come up with?? (www.whyslice.com)

Has anyone been to Michael's lately?? Oh my gosh they have a TON of new designer scrapbooking stuff!! They have a new line called Friendly Forest that I am just drooling over! It is full of owls, deers, and birds. I got the chipboard pack which is just darling. They were all out of the 12x12 paper pack and the album, but I am just dying to see what it looks like. Here is the chipboard pack.......

Have a wonderful Tuesday everyone. I am off to watch the Inauguration ceremonies, and then heading off to work. No crafting for me.

Blog Overload.

So I haven't blogged in over a month. Why?? Well I'm not really sure, just been super busy and haven't had much time to start crafting until now! I'm on a craft overload. Scrapbooking, sewing, crocheting, photography, baking. You name it I'm doing it.

I have also started a new hobby that you will probably be seeing a lot of on my blog and that is......Blythe Dolls! If you don't know what they are there is a ton of information at thisisblythe.com. They are dolls that were first introduced in the US from Japan in the 70's, didn't do so hot. They were then rediscovered by a photographer name Gina who brought them back to life. Blythe collecting is a lot of fun and there are so many possibilities. People customize them, use them in awesome photography, and of course make adorable clothes for them. To check out some awesome pictures of Blythe dolls, check out the Flickr group Blythe, Blythe, Blythe

Here are some pictures of my current Blythe collection. I only have two, but I can't wait to get more!!!!

In scrapbooking news.......I GOT A SLICE for Christmas!!! WOOHOOOOO!!!! And guess what????? It's AWESOME!!! I have yet to actually use it on a scrapbook page, but I have been playing around with it and it is sooo amazing!

Here are some scrapbook pages I have created over my holiday break. I'm glad to be back in the swing of things, and can't wait to share new creations with everyone!!

How were your holidays??? What are your plans for the new year?

Happy Holidays!

The holiday season has officially begun!! I haven't had much time for scrapping since I have been working a lot on getting things ready for my holiday arts and craft show that is this weekend. This will be my first craft show with my polymer creations, I hope people like them. Here are a few things I have gotten done over the past week.

There is also a new sketch up over at Pink Sketches. Here is the layout I created using Basic Grey's Wassill line.
