Pink Sketches #3

I have been a super bad blogger the last week. I just literally have no time to do anything. I've been working way to much and scrapping way to little. So expect a lot of fun treats in the next few days.

Pink Sketch #3 is up at Pink Sketches. I absolutely love this sketch. Die cut paper is all the rage these days, and I really wanted to incorporate into the sketch. I think it turned out great. Make sure to go to Pink Sketches and participate with Sketch #3.

Scrapbook Wish List

Here it is again another one of my scrapbook wish lists. It really is never ending!! lol. What's on your scrapbook wish list?

October Afternoon Good Cheer Collection - It's kind of vintage/shabby chic Christmas, and completely adorable! I also love their other lines that are coming out soon!

Studio Calico - I've never tried a kit club yet, but I'm seriously thinking about trying it out. The September Kit preview of Studio Calico looks amazing, and I think it would be a super easy way to shop fo

r new scrapbook supplies. Everything matches and I'm not hunting around for things that coordinate.

If anyone knows when the new October Afternoon and MME collections are shipping please let me know. And also let me know if you are a member of a kit club? How do you like it? Any recommendations? 

Crop City

It's off to The Scrapbook Tree for me to get some cropin' done with my new stash of products! I can't wait to play with all the fun new paper lines!!!  

Sketch #2

Sketch #2 is up at Pink Sketches. I had a great time with it, I used the pics I took of me in Chicago, as well as the patterned paper I got at Windy City Scrapbooking. Scrapping Shopping Spree

I have bought waaayyyy to many scrapbooking supplies over the past week. lol. I just could not resist all the new paper lines that are coming out.

On Monday I went to Archiver's and got a ton of the Moda Bella line from American Crafts. I also got some embellishments and some Thickers to match.

Then yesterday I went to Paper Tales and got the new owl Maya Road chipboard, and a few papers from the new Basic Grey Ambrosia line. The colors on this line are amazing. Great for fall, and nothing like I have used before. 

So after Paper Tales I headed to The Scrapbook Zone. They were having a HUUUGE Freaky Friday sale. All pattern paper was 20 % off and cardstock was 4 for $1.00 plus a ton of other great goodies. So I stocked up on some more new lines that I have been wanting. I got a ton of Basic Grey Eva. And I got all of Pink Paislee's Pop Fashion collection that I have really been wanting. I also got some extra of Pink Paislee's Vintage Moon and a few other misc. papers and embellishments.

So now I REALLY need to start croppin with all of this. lol.

Mini Book Progess

I went to the Scrapbook Tree yesterday to do some cropping. I got some Pink Sketches stuff done, which is top secret. lol. And I also worked on my mini book. I have all the pictures in it, and I started to embellish it, but it's not quite finished yet. Here is the progress.

Pink Sketches

Today is the long awaited launch of Pink Sketches!!! I am so excited I started this website. We have already gotten over 2000 hits and the site is just now officially launching.

I think this is going to be an amazing opportunity to meet other scrapbook artists, and share my work with others. Please go check it out and participate it's going to be a ton of fun and you could even get a special gift by participating. Head over to Pink Sketches for more info.

Weekend Post

I have a super busy day, I have to go back to work today, and then I have to come home and get ready for the launch. So enjoy some Chicago pics for today and tomorrow will be the Pink Sketches layout.

Swing, Swing, Swing

There are only 2 more days until the launch of Pink Sketches, I can not believe it. I have a million and one things to do but I think I am almost ready. I've been emailing a ton of manufacturers trying to get some sponsors and also have been trying to think of some good prizes for everyone that participates.

I still haven't started to scrap my chicago pages yet, hopefully some time this weekend or next week if I get a chance. I have my mini book pretty much laid out I just have to add the pictures and then embellishment. Unfortunently I have to go back to work on Saturday, my lovely 10 days of vacation is going to be over. Darn. It was so nice too. 

So here is a layout I finished before vacation. It's of my cousin and his trip we took to the park.

The weather in Chicago was absolutely beautiful. 80 degrees and sun the whole time. The highlights for the trip for me were:

I'm Home!!!

I'm back!!!! The trip was absolutely wonderful. This was my first time in Chicago, and it was AMAZING! I had know idea how beautiful it was there. There is so much to see and do. I did make it over to Windy City Scrapbooking. It was a great store with super nice employees. I stayed there for about an hour and just walked around and around. lol. I didn't spend too much, but I did get some great patterned paper.

I have about 200 emails to go through and a ton of things to do for Pink Sketches so I'm going to keep this one short and blog more about the trip later. I'll leave you with a few pictures. Tons more are coming I took 250 of them!

Vacation Post #1

Hey everyone I'm out of town until Wednesday but I decided I would schedule a post anyway. 

Have you been checking out the twitter box?? It's right over here <----------------- I will be texting to the twitter box while I'm out of town to let you know what exciting things I'm seeing and ideas I'm coming up with while I'm on the road.

If you get a chance go and subscribe to Scrapbook News and Review. It's my publishing debut. I should be in the pet section. I haven't even seen it yet, but I know it is in issue #5.

I'm Off.....

I'm heading to Chicago at 6 a.m. tomorrow morning blog buddies. I can't wait to take lots of pictures and scrap them all. I will not be taking my laptop with me, so I will have no access to email or the blog. I did however find a very cool way that I will be able to communicate to you all. It's called Twitter. It allows me to text message a short comment and then will post it on the blog. Well at least that is what it is suppose to do, lol, we will have to wait and see if it really works. So I will post the little twitter box on here.

I also have a few posts that should post automatically while I am gone. I have been having some slow internet connection today though, so I hope it will get fixed before I leave so I can post everything for you guys.

The announcement has been made, I have chosen the Pink Sketches design team! Head over to Pink Sketches and congratulate the talented team. Congratulations girls, I can't wait to start creating with you.

In other news, I got an email last night from Two Peas that Pink Paislee's Vintage Moon Collection was in stock, so or course I had to run over and pick it up before it sells out. I got 6 sheets of the patterned paper that has the little owl on it. It is truly irresistible. Isn't it darling? You can pick it up at Two Peas.

Summer Vacation

Today is the last day to apply for the Pink Sketches Design Team. You have until 10 p.m. EST tonight to email me your application. After 10 p.m. I will begin the very tough process of choosing the team. There are almost 80 applications as of right now. I should have a decision by Friday at 8:00 A.M. EST. So make sure you check out Pink Sketches for the BIG announcement!

My vacation from work has officially begun. 10 days of pure joy. Yesterday I spent time with my family. I went to visit my baby cousin and also my aunt and other cousins. We had a great time at the park (the same one I played at as a kid). Nothing brightens a day like this little guy. Here's us on the swings. I took 60 pictures today, I can't wait to get them printed and start scrapping!

I also want to congratulate my Aunt Karin on the opening of her Etsy shop Wild Woman Art

she's just getting it started, but if you get a chance check it out. She has handmade chakra bracelets and art dolls!

There are only two more days to enter your application for Pink Sketches. I can not believe all of the entries that I have gotten so far. This is going to be a really hard decision. I have a feeling that the design team is going to be more than 5 members. 

Yesterday I posted my scrapbooking top 3  wishlist. Today I'm going to post my top 3 favorite scrapbook websites. These are sites I visit everyday and could not live without. Make sure you check them out.

Two Peas - My favorite website by far! Nothing beats it. A message board, shopping and an AMAZING gallery. I'm sure everyone knows about it, but this just isn't my favs without Two Peas.

Scrap In Style TV - I'm fairly new to this site, but glad I found it. The message board is full of great people and there's ton of other great things on the site!

Pub Calls - If your looking to get published, this is the site to go to. Every other day they list website/magazines that are looking to publish your work.

I decided I would make todays post a scrapbook wish list of sorts. Things I'm eyeing and would just love to get my hands on. What about you??? What's on top of your wish list?

1. The Urban Cosmos Line by 

Prima Marketing - The colors are absolutely fabulous. I could see using it on many layouts.

2. Fiskars Threading Water Punch - The possibilities are endless with this one. Make your own diecut paper, borders, oh the fun I could have!

3. Spellbound Collection by Making Memories - I'm not sure why, but this new Halloween line really catches my eye, I think It's because it's not your typical witch or skeleton paper, it has a great pattern to it. And the embellishments look gorgeous! 

Countdown....

Just a short Sunday blog.....A countdown to upcoming events....Only 3 more days of work until I start my vacation, and in exactly one week I will be in Chicago!  I can not wait!!! Boy do I need it. It will be so nice to get away. 

Only 5 more days to send in your design team applications for Pink Sketches!! There are so many entries, and everyones work is so amazing this is going to be a really hard decision.

Mini Book Mania

So I started my first mini book yesterday. I didn't get very far. I basically just got the background paper put on the chipboard. I'm having a little trouble figuring out how to cut the paper around the brads on the cover, but I think I came up with a little bit of a technique. Instead of trying to cut the paper in a perfect circle, I cut a slit where the hole is and then kind of push the paper under the brad. It seems to help a little. 

I think the colors just look stunning. This is of course The Vita Bella line by My Little Yellow Bicycle. 

Now there is only one big thing left to do to finish this mini book.......TAKE PICTURES. lol. Only about a week and 2 days until I leave for Chicago. I can't wait to get some beautiful shots to go along with this beautiful patterned paper.
