Glitter Fun

I've been working crazy hours lately, and finally got some time to do a little crafting yesterday. I am working on some glitter art for my Etsy shop. I started a ladybug yesterday, it's not done yet but I'm loving the look so far. Hopefully I will have them done before the weekend. I am also in the process of taking pictures of all the scrapbook layouts I have finished over the past couple of weeks. There are tons and I can't wait to share them with everyone.
Only 3 more days til I get to go out of town!! Woohoo! I really could use a vacation. And a vacation filled with fun, shopping, and crafting is the best time! I can't wait to see all the things people have created at The Original Creative Festival. Plus we are going to Newport on the Levee which looks like it is going to be a great time!! Have a great day!

Happy Wednesday!

It's Wednesday and that means we are half way through the week! Woohoo! All of the bug are for sale in The Pink Chihuahua Art Etsy Shop. So make sure you check them out! They are all looking for new homes.
Next week I will be headed out of town to The Original Creative Festival in Cincinnati, Ohio. It is mostly a needle crafting expo and they are suppose to have a wonderful art doll exhibit so I am very excited. If anyone knows of any great crafty places in Cincinnati let me know.
Have a great day, hopefully I will have some new polymer clay creations by the end of the week! I am also one of the fab five etsy shops on Nelda's website so check it out HERE.

Gloomy Day

It's a gloomy, rainy day here in Michigan. I'm in the process of working on those new dragonflies/butterflies for the Pink Chihuahua Art Etsy Shop. They should be done by Monday. This is my first time working with liquid polymer clay, so it's taking a couple of trial and errors. In the mean time I thought I would do a post on some of my favorite scrapbook products that I think I are must haves!!! So here are three of my favorites!

Vario Herma Adhesive: this product is great for your heavier things, like matted photos. It's super easy to use and you get a lot on a roll. (Dispenser 12.99, Refill 7.99)

Kokuyo Dot 'n' Roller: Best Adhesive EVER!! So simple to use and really sticks! This adhesive is small clear dots great on photos, or even better on small embellishments. (Dispenser 5.99, Refill 4.49)

Versa Magic Dew Drop Chalk: These come in a ton of different colors, and can really add a great effect to the edges of your scrapbook pages. (Single Dew Drop 2.29, Set of 4 9.99)

Scrapbook Page Maps By Becky Fleck

If you are new to scrapbooking, or an old pro looking for some new ideas Scrapbook Page Maps by Becky Fleck is for you. This book has tons of great sketch ideas to use for any size, or any page layout. Becky not only shows you where to put the pictures, but she also gives you ideas for placement of your embellishments. The book also comes with a handy section in the back where you can punch out flash card like sketches, and box, so you can easily take them to a crop. My only complaint about the book is it isn't organized like Becky Higgins. Becky's books are organized so that the sketches with the same amount of pictures are grouped together. But other than that the book is fantastic and a must have!!! You can get it for 16.49 on Amazon.com. If your not sure about the book but want to look at some of her great sketches you can download and print hundreds of them HERE.

In other news.....I got a Flip camera at work for like $20 bucks. I really had no reason to buy it, but I figured hey something that is regular $129.99 for $20 must be a deal. It's super easy to use. Hit record to record and hit it again to stop it. Plug it into your usb port on you computer and VOILA!!! Instant video. So maybe I will try some video blogs like Donna Downey and show how I make some of my stuff! Have a wonderful Tuesday, it's off to work for me!

Long Time....No Blog....

I haven't blogged in a week. I have been so busy. My brothers graduation was this week, plus I worked a ton of hours. I really have gotten nothing accomplished lately. I did start messing around today trying to come up with a sort of "prototype" for dragonflies/butterflies I am going to be making. (you can see one below) I am going to add liquid sculpey to the wings and make them have a sheerness to them with some color. I'm planning on making them in a ton of different colors, so look for those within the next few days. Also check back tomorrow for my review of Becky Fleck's book Scrapbook Page Maps.
